When a family member has an eating disorder the effects of the illness are felt throughout the immediate family every day and by the wider family at family events. Parents and step parents are often central to all of the family interactions; there will be many and differing demands on your time, energy and emotions. There may be other siblings, elderly parents and your partner to understand and support and on top of all of this you may be trying to hold down a job.
