Our History

ABC was first registered as a charity in 1989 and Trustees were appointed. ABC was then run by a management committee overseen by two directors: the founders of the original organisations that formed ABC. In 2001 a full-time manager was employed, and shortly after that, the office moved to Hitchin, Hertfordshire. ABC is now run by a team of full and part time staff, regional volunteers and overseen by a board of trustees, advisors and led by a Chief Executive. Our offices are now located in Bristol.
